Date Add or Subtract Calculator

Add or subtract days, weeks, months, or years from a calendar date.

Calculations happen locally. We do not send your values to our server.

Example

Adding one month to January 31, 2026 returns February 28, 2026 because that month has fewer days.

Calculation method

Days and weeks move by calendar days. Months and years preserve the day when possible and otherwise clamp it to the destination month’s final day.

Important notes

The calculation uses local calendar dates without time zones. Month-end and leap-day results follow the stated clamping rule.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to February 29 after adding one year?

When the destination year is not a leap year, the result is clamped to February 28.

Does daylight saving time affect the result?

No. The tool works with date-only calendar values rather than elapsed hours.
