Time Zone Converter & World Clock

Convert a date and time between world time zones or compare current times with a live world clock.

Calculations happen locally. We do not send your values to our server.

Example

On January 15, 2026, 09:00 in New York is 14:00 in London and 23:00 in Tokyo.

Calculation method

The converter finds the instant matching the entered local date and time in the source time zone, then formats that same instant in each destination zone using the browser’s time zone rules. The live world clock instead uses the current device time.

Important notes

Dates from 1900 through 2100 are supported. Time zone rules come from the browser and can change by government decision. Keep your browser and device clock current; historical and far-future results depend on its installed rules.

Schedule using a date and a city

For a meeting or deadline, select the source city’s time zone and enter the local calendar date as well as the time. A fixed hour difference is not enough for places that change clocks. In the examples below, the New York meeting shifts by one hour in Tokyo between January and July. Read the full destination date: an evening UTC event can occur on the following day in Japan.

Resolve clock changes explicitly

A spring clock change can skip a local time entirely. If conversion reports a missing time, confirm the intended time with the organizer rather than substituting another hour. A fall clock change can repeat an hour. Earlier and later select different instants for that repeated local time; the ambiguity notice identifies when that decision matters.

Check the source of the clock

Manual conversion uses your entered date, while the live world clock follows your device clock. Neither mode synchronizes the device with an authoritative time server. The installed browser time-zone rules determine historical and future offsets; update the browser and confirm important future schedules when governments announce changes.

Frequently asked questions

Does this account for daylight saving time?

Yes, using the rules installed in your browser for the selected date and zone. Missing times during a forward clock change are rejected rather than silently shifted.

What if the same local time occurs twice?

During a backward clock change, one local time may match two instants. Select the earlier or later occurrence; the result shows a notice when this choice applies.

Can I compare current times without entering a date?

Yes. Enable Live world clock to update current times while the page stays open. Manual date conversion does not tick. Different zones can show different calendar dates for the same instant.
