Time Card Calculator

Calculate paid hours from clock-in, clock-out, and unpaid break times.

Calculations happen locally. We do not send your values to our server.

Example

Clocking in at 09:00 and out at 17:30 with a 30-minute unpaid break produces 8 paid hours.

Calculation method

The elapsed minutes between clock-in and clock-out are calculated, crossing midnight when needed, and the unpaid break is then subtracted.

Important notes

This single-shift result does not apply employer rounding rules, split shifts, overtime thresholds, or daylight-saving adjustments.

Frequently asked questions

Can I calculate an overnight shift?

Yes. A clock-out earlier than clock-in is treated as occurring on the following day.

What if my break is paid?

Enter zero break minutes so the paid break remains included in the elapsed work time.

Does it round to payroll increments?

No. It uses the exact entered minutes and also displays the result as decimal hours.
